Rascal and Emma travel to Washington, D. C. for his hip surgery and while they are there a whole new world opens for Emma. But as interesting as she finds this new world, she, like Rascal, can't wait until they can return home to Whiskey Jack Lake. President Cutlidge and Prime Minister Kingsley met at Whiskey Jack Lodge to discuss the possibility of The United States and Canada merging to form a new Nation, North America, and the capital situated at Sault St. Marie. Because of the merger, the nation's economy is the strongest in the world. When corrupt financial groups try to create a run on the New York Stock Exchange in a move to control industrial businesses, they are stopped by this new national parliament. Because of the strength of this new nation, when Hitler begins his war to control all of Europe, North America immediately joins England and France and Hitler is stopped before he can move his troops out of Germany. Action is immediately taken when the intelligence agency uncovers information of Japan's intention to attack Pearl Harbor and Admiral Nagamo is met by the huge North American naval fleet before he can launch his bombers and fighters. Emperor Hirohito is forced to surrender. The atom bomb is never used. After the war, Hitchcock Lumber Company moves back to Whiskey Jack Lake and Presidents Cutlidge and Kingsley return to Whiskey Jack for a friendly visit.
