The Property
E Randolph Underwood
Charles and Jane Farnsworth unexpectedly inherit a parcel of property near Floydville, West Virginia, the setting for the author's previous novel, Bones of Truth: Small Town Cold Case. They soon learn of the mystery and ghost stories surrounding the mansion that had burned there after an extravagant party in February, 1930. Surprises uncovered during improvements to the property reopen stories about activities on the property in the past and the circumstances behind the fire that killed the parents of their elderly benefactor. Join Jane Farnsworth, a retired teacher with an interest in genealogy, and retired Floydville Police Chief, Dan McGrew, as they combine their talents in helping to sort through legends, old records, and twisted family relationships to determine what happened there more than eighty-five years ago, who was involved, and who might still know something. The novel is set in a small town in West Virginia and contains an ever-changing chain of events that will keep the reader guessing until the end.
