The Pinedale Incident
Larry Nemitz
Like many people in Pinedale, Stan Geraldson longed for the day he'd make enough money to move his family into the rolling hills of autumn splendor known as the west side of Pinedale, a small Wisconsin tourist town. He saw it as a prize of life and set out to win it. He saw a used car salesman who needed a friend and brought him into the family. He saw a church that needed his time and he gave them what they asked. Stan became a solid man of friendship and honor in the community. But what he didn't see could have destroyed everything for him and the people of Pinedale. The warning goes out; the children weep. The shadows creep; the city sleeps. They hear the words; they do not perceive. They slumber long, and observe no wrong. Who will turn on the light, that they might see?
