Seven and Seven

John is a 28-year-old who thoroughly enjoys his independence as a single man living and working in Chicago. He spends most of his nights doing deliveries in the city, which is a perfect job for someone who has an eye for attractive men. John, incidentally, has success in getting to know more than one person's share of attractive people. Cruising one night through Chicago's Little Village neighborhood, he spots a man who eventually changes his carefree nature. More than being attracted to a strikingly handsome man named Manuel, John quickly becomes obsessed with him. Seeing an opportunity to personally benefit from John's interest in him, Manuel positively responds to John's advances, even though he has a possessive wife. In time, John fearfully suspects the negatives that Manuel could bring to their relationship. Blinded by his fascination with Manuel, however, John becomes more and more committed to him. Eventually, John tries to protect himself from possible harm he may endure through his association with Manuel. After taking measures to protect himself, he discovers that he has only created problems for himself, problems related to his association with Manuel. Though John tries to break his obsession with Manuel by continually allowing others - including a former lover - into his life, he finds it incredibly difficult to release himself from the hold Manuel has on him. Accurately set in various locations throughout Chicago with believable characters and situations, this is a fictional mystery story.
