The Light Shines Through the Scars
Melissa Kellogg
Emotions and reality blur in this collection of poems. From all things that are felt, a reality arises that directs our course for better or for worse. In these poems, there is a choice to be made and it's often in the form of perseverance-to persevere in spite of hardship, disappointment, and emotional pain. Sometimes, it entails nothing more than holding on until the darkness passes. To accept what is and to see the good in life takes strength. Throughout this collection, there is light to be found. Where there are scars, there is pain but also opportunity to allow the light to shine on through, not as a way to dismiss the pain but to transform it into something meaningful. I hope that you enjoy the following poems.
