Pamela Hillan and Penelope Dyan, lifelong friends who used to like to pretend they were in a Nancy Drew book when they were kids, are back again, all grown up (and then some); and they are still pretending! This is the twenty-fourth book in this series; and our heroines, Jan and Jenny (as usual) are out to save the world! This time, they encounter an abused woman and her abuser. And while they initially decide what they are observing is none of their business, they soon discover the problem in front of them is much bigger than they had imagined; and this is why FBI attorney Ms. Wright is called to the scene once again with her team, along with the local police and retired FBI agents Mr. and Mrs. Hufflefinger.
