The Ascended Christ: a Study in the Earliest Christian Teaching
Henry Barclay Swete
Appearances of our Lord after the Passion. Like its predecessor, it has grown out of a course of lectures given to candidates for Holy Orders. My hope is that in its present form it may be of some service to the younger clergy, and also to the increasing class of Church workers among the laity. The subject is one which, I am persuaded, ought to be kept prominently before the minds of those who take part inC hristian work of any kind, and indeed of all whose ambition it is to live their lives inC hrist. The Resurrection of our Lord would have been an event of comparatively small significance from the standpoint of the religious life, if it had been no more than a return to life on earth for a shorter or a longer space of time.
