Back in the Day
Pat Meissner Bean
Back in the Day, A Memoir of Healdsburg's Golden Era in the 1940s and 1950s offers the reader a "Leave it to Beaver" innocence and charm. Pat Bean's vignettes portray life as it once was in the small town of Healdsburg, California, before it became a world-class travel destination. She lovingly records the town's characters, businesses and schools, as well as its many charms. With warm humor, the author depicts small town living in a quieter, more cohesive time, before the "anger, protests and demands" of the 1960s changed everything.
