Love Letters from a Doughboy: a World War I Love Story

Thomas Fletcher doesn't believe in love at first sight,but then he sees Juliette Wilcox at a drug store in Birmingham, Alabama.  He doesn't know her, but her long hair and chocolate brown eyes captivate him.  Their attraction cannot be denied, but circumstances stand in their way.

Juliette is a wealthy banker's daughter, whose father had no intentions for her to marry a poor farmer's son.  Then Thomas is drafted to fight in World War I.  Although Juliette begs him to marry her before he goes to boot camp, he doesn't want to leave her a widow, so letters are all they have until he returns from the battlefield-hopefully,alive.

While he's away in France and Germany, their love grows and the letters continue to come to Juliette's front porch in Alabama.  Even so, war is a dark force, and many men will never return.  Will Thomas be one of the soldiers lost, or will he come home and make Juliette's dreams of marriage a happy reality?
