Shakespeare's Journey
Leroy Clark
This romantic drama tells the story of Shakespeare's struggle for success as an actor, playwright, and businessman and the conflicts it causes in his personal life. It explores the age old struggle to find a balance between career and family. Evan Blake, Chicago Dramatists, said, ?There is a great deal to like in this play: The subjects are fascinating; the language is generally wonderful?heightened, period-apt, and frequently witty; the characters interesting and believable, often charming.? Joseph Fedorko said, ?I can already see the tag line for the play: ?What happened AFTER Shakespeare fell in love?? I love the premise, I love the language, I really, REALLY love the theatricality."
