Mila Capes-altom
Closing The Circle is a reference guide that will soon become a standard source and teaching tool for those interested in Native American History or Genealogy. This work does more than outline the basics of techniques. Mila Capes-Altom summarized, in brilliant narrative format, what happened to the Five Civilized Tribes that influenced where they are today. She describes the key treaties and agreements negotiated between the tribes and the U. S. Government, not an easy task considering the large number of such legal documents. Raised in a traditional family, the author brings a longtime of study and first hand knowledge of Indian history and life to her books. She has lectured on college and university campuses regarding her studies and writings. Jim Conrad, PhD Head, Special Collections and Instructor of History Texas A and M University - Commerce
