The Oxford bookseller and publisher John Henry Parker (1806–84) was also a historian of architecture, first publishing this illustrated glossary in 1836. Reissued here are the 1840 third edition and the 1841 companion volume. Volume 2 contains further plates, a chronology of architectural developments, and indexes.
