Contributor Bio:  Eisenstadt, S N S. N. Eisenstadt is emeritus professor at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. His previous books include "Multiple Modernities," "Explorations in Jewish Historical Experience," and "Power, Trust and Meaning,"Contributor Bio:  Eisenstadt, Shmuel N Shmuel N. Eisenstadt (1923-2010) taught at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and was frequently a visiting professor at American universities. He is the author of numerous works including The Political Systems of Empires, which won the 1964 McIver Award.
